Gaming with Bit-Torrent Performance on the Killer Xeno Pro

In order to see how things faired when using a saturated connection, we ran the same CS:S tests as above while running µTorrent. We fired up two 1GB torrents with around 120 connections between them.

The first thing worth mentioning is that if you aren’t going to throttle, don’t expect the Xeno Pro to save the day. All the network controllers were completely unplayable when the connection was fully saturated with 10mbit down, and 250Kbit up, with pings in the region of 700ms. Throttling things to 4mbit down and the same 250Kbit up, the Xeno Pro offered little that any QOS couldn’t. Using the Bandwidth Control software, we throttled down uTorrent.exe and achieve a minimum frame rate of 43 and a ping of 120.
